JAKARTA, Oct. 8 (Xinhuanet) -- Indonesia's next president Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono on Friday condemned the blast in the Indonesian Embassy in Paris Friday morning.

"I strongly condemn the terrorist act done at the Indonesian Embassy in Paris," Susilo said.

He asked incumbent President Megawati Soekarnoputri to take political step and cooperate with the French government to settle the case.

"And I also do hope President Megawati who is still in power now to conduct appropriate actions and good cooperation with the government of France," Susilo said.

Susilo also asked the French government to take legal action against those responsible for the attack and protect Indonesian citizens and facilities there.

"I do hope the government of France will take appropriate actions to bring the perpetrators to justice, and to make sure that the law is enforced and our people are protected in France," he said.

In addition, the winner of recent Indonesian presidential election also urged intelligence and foreign affairs ministries totake necessary steps.

A low-explosive bomb went off Friday morning in the Indonesian Embassy in Paris, seriously injuring two people and causing minor injuries to some others. Enditem
