PARIS, Oct. 8 (Xinhuanet) -- A bomb exploded outside
the Indonesian embassy in Paris before dawn on Friday, injuring nine people,
including four embassy workers, French Interior Minister Dominique de Villepin
said.
A rigged package exploded at the base of a flag pole
in front of the Indonesian embassy, de Villepin said.
Most of the wounded were hurt by flying glass, and
had been taken to hospital, the minister said.
Cars were damaged by the explosion and the spot was
littered with shattered window glasses. The police have sealed off the areato
block access.
The Indonesian embassy is located in the 16th
district of Paris.
Indonesia, the most populous Muslim country in the
world, has suffered three major terrorist attacks in recent years. The country
opposed the US-led Iraq war last year. Enditem |
