JAKARTA, Oct. 8 (Xinhuanet) -- The Indonesian Foreign Affairs Ministry said here Friday it cannot confirm yet that its embassy in Paris was the real target of the bombing earlier in the day.
"The blast occurred on a road near the Indonesian embassy, not inside the embassy complex. The blast smashed glasses on the embassy compound and damaged other buildings near the site but we don't know for sure that the Indonesian embassy was really targeted," Foreign Affairs Ministry spokesman Marty Natalegawa said.
He said the explosion occurred between the embassy compound and a building for official residence of the embassy staff.
Meanwhile, embassy staff Tri Gustoro said from Paris that the embassy did not receive threat prior to the bombing.
"There was no threat from anybody. We don't know exactly what (the bombing) is intended for, it's still too early," he said in a phone interview with Jakarta-based Sonora Radio station.
He said the blast caused no serious injuries, adding that an embassy staff and his two relatives suffered only minor injuries of glass pieces. Enditem
