BAGHDAD, Oct. 7 (Xinhuanet) -- Explosions followed by heavy gunfire rocked central Baghdad on late Thursday, but the cause and the casualty were not immediately clear.

   The explosions happened shortly after 7 p.m. (1600 GMT) outsidethe Sheraton Hotel and the nearby Palestine Hotel which are used by Western journalists and foreign contractors.  Enditem
