KAMPALA, Oct. 6 (Xinhuanet) -- Another group of 34 children abducted by Lord's Resistance Army (LRA) rebels have been flown back to northern Uganda's Gulu town from southern Sudan, local press reported on Wednesday.

On arrival at Gulu airfield on Monday evening, the former abductees were entertained to Larakaraka dance by another group offormer abductees from the World Vision Trauma and Counseling Center.

Gulu resident district commissioner Marx Omeda thanked the Sudanese government for protecting the former abductees, saying "Ithank the Sudan government for keeping you safety in Juba after you escaped from the LRA captivity in Sudan."

This brings the number of former abducted children brought backby the International Organization for Migration to 185 since September.

Over 20,000 children have been abducted by the LRA rebels as porters, fighters and sex slaves in their 18-year rebellion in northern Uganda. Enditem
