ISLAMABAD, Oct. 5 (Xinhuanet) -- Visiting British Defense Secretary Geoffrey Hoon Tuesday welcomed the on-going Indo-Pak dialogue process and said Britain is keenly watching the progress, according to the private News Network of International.

Addressing reporters in Rawalpindi, twin city of Islamabad, Hoon said he supported continuation of the talks between Pakistan and India and that Britain is ready to play its role for the solution of all outstanding issues including the Kashmir dispute.

Hoon, who arrived here Monday for a two-day "regular" visit, said he supported the efforts for the peaceful resolution of the Kashmir and other disputes between India and Pakistan and hoped that the current Indo-Pak talks would produce fruitful results.

He appreciated Pakistan's role in the war against terrorism, saying "Pakistan is our trusted ally."

Hoon also expressed satisfaction over the fact that both Pakistan and Britain are fully cooperating in controlling drug menace.

To check smuggling of narcotics into Pakistan from Afghanistan,Hoon declared that Britain would make fool-proof arrangements on the Pak-Afghan borders to prevent narcotics smuggling into Pakistan. Enditem กก
