ABU DHABI, Oct. 4 (Xinhuanet) -- The cabinet of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) called Monday on a decisive international stance to pressure Israel to end its aggressions in the Gaza Strip, the official WAM news agency reported.
The appeal came in a statement issued by the cabinet following their weekly session Monday.
The UAE government urged the UN Security Council, and the Quartet Committee to adopt a prompt stance capable of ending the current Israeli flagrant aggressions in Gaza, which are an obvious violation of all international and human conventions and norms.
Israel's massive operation in Gaza code-named Days of Penitencehas claimed lives of at least 70 Palestinians since its start Tuesday night.
UN Secretary General Kofi Annan has urged Israel to halt theraid and meanwhile called on Palestinian leaders to help stop rocket attacks against Israel. Enditem |
