Two US soldiers killed in Baghdad

   BAGHDAD, Oct. 4 (Xinhuanet) -- Two US soldiers were killed by small arms fire at a checkpoint jointly manned by Iraqi and US forces in Baghdad, the US military said in a statement on Monday. 

  "The soldiers were engaged by small arms fire at a joint traffic control point Sunday afternoon," the statement said.

   No further details were available about the incident.

   Over 1,050 US servicemen have been killed in Iraq since the start of war in March 2003. Enditem
