PARIS, Oct. 1 (Xinhuanet) -- French Prime Minister Jean-Pierre Raffarin
declared Friday the news France had about the two French hostages in Iraq was
"not complete".
"We have news that is currently not complete," he said in Paris,calling for
prudence over the two hostages' release.
He acknowledged later that the two Frenchmen's release is now apermanent
worry of the French government.
In the mid-day, French negotiator, Philippe Brett, assistant ofFrench
parliamentary deputy Didier Julia, affirmed at French radioEurope 1 that he had
been in Iraq with the two hostages, Georges Malbrunot of Le Figaro newspaper and
Christian Chesnot of Radio France Internationale, who were kidnapped on Aug. 20
in Iraq by a group called itself Islamic Army in Iraq.
He also said that their release would be within hours.
Didier Julia said Friday in Damascus that Brett was on his way to Damascus,
but was not able to confirm his meeting with the two hostages. Enditem
