BEIJING, Sept. 30 (Xinhuanet) -- Two Chinese
companies, namely theChina New Era Group and China Xinshidai Company, issued a
statement on Thursday, protesting unjustified sanctions by the United States.
The US government imposed sanctions
on Sept. 21, 2004 against China Xinshidai Company and China New Era Group,
alleging that it spread WMD-capable missile technology to some country, which is
"totally groundless", the statement said.
"We hereby express our strong opposition and
condemnation of such outrageous and unjustified behaviors of the US government,"
it said.
The China Xinshidai Company is a state-owned
enterprise legally registered and operated in China.
For over ten years, the company operated various
businesses including trade of conventional and general products of China's
defense industries in strict conformity to laws and regulations ofChina and
developed businesses in many countries and regions of the world, the statement
said.
"We deeply understand that the prosperity of the
world requirespeaceful and stable international political and economic
environment, and firmly support the policy of Chinese government on
non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction (WMD) and their means of
delivery, and strictly comply with the Regulations of the People's Republic of
China on Export Control of Missile andMissile -Related Items and technology as
well as its Export Control list in our trade with foreign countries," it said.
"We never violate Chinese law and international
conventions in our export activities; never commitment to export restricted
itemsand technology to a certain country," the statement said.
"We believe that the sanction against China Xinshidai
Company and China New Era Group in the unwarranted name by the US government
with no evidence is vilification and circumvention to Chinese enterprises; it
was a great mistake and completely groundless," it said.
"We strongly demand that the US government provide
evidence forthe sanctions, respect the fact and lift the sanction immediately,"
the statement said.
"Such behavior of US government brings us not only
great economic loss, but also the damage to our international reputationas well
as enormous adverse impact on our normal trade relationship with our US
cooperators," it said, "We reserve our right to resort to legal action when
necessary." Enditem |
