¡¡ ¡¡ATHENS, Sept. 28 (Xinhuanet) -- Canadian Paralympian Jeff Adams climbed Tuesday Athens' world renown landmark Acropolis in his wheelchair, TV-station Alpha reported.

Two-time Olympian, four-time Paralympian, six-time world champion, Adams won bronze in the men's T54 400m wheelchair race at Athens Paralympics Games.

Steep ancient Acropolis is since last August equipped with wheelchair lift, but Adams climbed by his own strength.

Canadian and Greek governments supported Adams'televised effort titled "Step up to change: Acropolis Climb", meant to raiseawareness about the strengths and possibilities of people with a disability.

In September 2002, Adams climbed up 1,776 steps of CN tower staircase in Toronto, Canada, to increase awareness for creating abarrier-free society and to raise funds to support an Outreach Program. the program helps educate future generations - the architects, builders and legislators - about the importance of accessibility.
