RIO DE JANEIRO, Sept. 25 (Xinhuanet) -- A Brazilian air force plane with a cargo of food and medicine departed Saturday from Riode Janeiro for Haiti.
The food and medicine, donated by three Brazilian companies, will help people suffering from hunger and thirst as a consequence of tropical storm Jeanne, which hit the island last Sunday.
The lack of water and food has led to a humanitarian crisis in the Caribbean country.
Members of the United Nations Mission for the Stability of Haiti (MINUSTAH) opened fire into the air last Thursday in an attempt to control individuals snatching for food and medicine. Enditem
