Flash: China wins 100th Paralympic Games medal in Athens

    ATHENS, Sept. 25 (Xinhuanet) -- China won its 100th medal at the 12th Paralympic Games when a swimmer won the country's 40th gold medal here Saturday afternoon.

    Dong Qiming won the women's S11 100 meters backstroke event in a world and Paralympic record of one minute 22.35 seconds.

    It was her first gold medal here. She finished eighth and lastin her only other event, 100m freestyle, on Friday. Enditem
