BEIJING, Sept. 23 (Xinhuanet) -- An Iraqi militant group known as Jihad Organization claims to have killed two Italian female aid workers in Iraq.

But the validity of the claim, in a statement posted Thursday on an Islamist website, could not immediately be verified.

The Jihad group claims the Italian government did not meet their sole demand, which was a complete withdrawal of Italian troops from Iraq.

The Italian women, Simona Pari and Simona Torretta, both 29, were kidnapped from their Baghdad offices by armed militants on September 7th.
