UNITED NATIONS, Sept. 22 (Xinhuanet) -- The key mediators of the Middle East peace process find no "significant progress" made on the peace plan they had proposed, the Middle East "Quartet" said Wednesday after a closed consultation at the UN headquarters in New York.

"The situation on the ground for both Palestinians and Israelis remains extremely difficult and no significant progress has been achieved on the Roadmap," it said in a press release after the meeting, which was held on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly's annual high-level debate.
