BEIJING, Sept. 22 (Xinhuanet) -- Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, Indonesian Democratic Party candidate, is heading toward a massive presidential election victory over incumbent President Megawati Soekarnoputri.
A computerized count from the official Elections Commission late Tuesday showed Susilo at just over 60 percent support against Megawati's near 40 percent with about 84 million ballots counted.
The LP3ES Indonesian think tank predicted a Susilo landslide hours after polls closed Monday afternoon and Tuesday's data backed up that forecast.
The forecast was based on observation of the vote count at 1,940 polling stations.
The final results will be announced on October 5th.
The new government will be sworn in on October 20th.
