    Beijing, Sept. 22 (Xinhuanet) -- A new, smaller version of the best-selling PlayStation 2 game console will go on sale worldwide in early November.

    Sony Computer Entertainment says the new console weighs just 900 grams, less than half the current model, China Radio International reported Tuesday.

    The current PlayStation 2 console, the most advanced version of the PlayStation series so far available, has sold 70 million units since it hit the market in March 2000.

    But sales have been on the decline recently.
