ATHENS, Sept. 21 (Xinhuanet) -- Table tennis player Zhang Xiaoling won the women's individual TT6-8 event at the 12th Paralympic Games here Tuesday afternoon. It was China's 100th Paralympics gold medal.
Zhang was born on July 20, 1957 in Qinzhou of southern China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous region.
She began practise table tennis at the age of six and was recruited into the regional team when she was 13.
She had her left foot amputated after doctors failed to cure an injury.

--Individual table tennis title, at the 2nd national games for people with physical disabilities in 1987;
Individual title and TT7 team title (with Cheng Yu), the 1988 Seoul Paralympic Games;
TT10 team title (with Yang Yi) and TT10 individual title, at 1992 Barcelona Paralympic Games;
