Brazil beat South Korea in Paralympic soccer opener

    ATHENS, Sept. 18 (Xinhuanet) -- Brazil dominated the match and won a well deserved 4-0 victory over South Korea in the opening match of the 5-a-side football tournament of the 12th Paralympic Games at Hellinikon Olympic Complex here on Saturday.

    Brazilian Nelson Silva scored the opener in the 24th minute and substitute Joao Silva scored three goals, in the 24th, 45th and 49th minutes.

    Nelson Silva could have scored in two occasions from the penalty spot. But he hit the post in the first time and two minutes later his another shot was denied by the South Korean goalkeeper Lee Dae Won.

    The South Koreans also had their scoring chances wasted, in the23rd minute with Kim Kyoung-Ho and in the 33rd minute with Lee Jin-Won.

    Brazil will face France and South Korea play hosts Greece on Monday. Enditem
