CARACAS, Sept. 13 (Xinhuanet) -- A 16-strong delegation will represent Venezuela at the 12th Paralympics Games of Athens 2004, according to news agency Venpres Monday.

    The Venezuela delegation received a brief welcoming ceremony atAthens Olympic Villa Monday before the Games kick off on Friday and run through to September 28.

    The Venezuelan delegations is formed by athletes of track-and-field, cycling, swimming, weightlifting, table tennis, archery andjudo.

    They will have the commitment of representing their country side-by-side with 4,000 athletes from 143 countries and regions participating in Athens, to show the world what they are capable of in spite of their disabilities. Enditem
