| GAZA, Sept. 12 (Xinhuanet) -- Israeli helicopters on Sunday threw tens of thousands of leaflets on northern Gaza Strip, which warned Palestinian residents against helping militants who launched homemade rockets at Israel.
Palestinian security sources and residents said thousands of colorful leaflets fell down on the villages of Beit Hanoun and BeitLahya in northern Gaza as well as Jabalya refugee camp and the neighborhoods around.
A pink-colored leaflet signed by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said, "The Israel Defense Forces Army is warning the Palestinian residents not to help terrorists who fire rockets."
"Their houses will be demolished and their lands will be razed,"wrote the leaflet.
"These leaflets are part of the Israeli Army's psychological waragainst the Palestinian people," said one resident. The residents, however, condemned and rejected the IsraeliArmy's threats and said they were determined to continue helping Palestinian militants at any time despite these threats.
The Israeli Army forces ended Saturday a four-day military operation in northern Gaza Strip in revenge for Palestinian militants firing rockets at Israel, killing eight Palestinians and destroying several houses.
Palestinian militants, especially those of the Islamic resistance movement Hamas, are firing daily homemade al Qassam rockets from northern Gaza Strip at southern Israeli towns. Enditem |
