US puts world on verge of Apocalypse: Cuban paper
www.chinaview.cn 2004-09-12 10:07:21

HAVANA, Sept. 11 (Xinhuanet) -- The US government has put the world on the verge of Apocalypse with its so-called anti-terroristcrusade, whose purpose is consolidating the leadership of Washington, Cuban daily Granma said on Saturday.

The newspaper said that three years after the terrorist attacksin New York and Washington, the administration of US President George W. Bush has put into practice "a lethal, racist, hegemonic, occupational, colonialist and lying philosophy."

The newspaper questioned why so many possibilities to prevent those attacks were left unattended.

It recalled that the so-called anti-terrorist crusade started in Afghanistan, one of the poorest countries in the world. While thousands of people were killed and many cities destroyed in the country, Bush still could not find Osama bin Laden.

The newspaper noted that Afghanistan is still occupied by foreign troops; the country is as poor as ever; and instability and opium production mushroom.

Granma pointed out that oil led the White House to fabricate the Iraqi enemy, based on lies such as the presence in the Arab country of nuclear and chemical weapons.

The paper concluded by saying that three years after Sept. 11, the confrontation policy of Bush has left human beings feeling more insecure and the United States may invade and occupy new territories, but are not able to control them. Enditem
