www.chinaview.cn 2004-09-10 11:34:25

BEIJING, Sept. 10 (Xinhuanet) -- Foreign Ministry spokesperson Kong Quan says the car bombing outside the Australian embassy is shocking and China expresses its condolences to the victims' families and their countries.

He says China has seen that the Indonesian government has taken measures to investigate the attacks and China will pay close attention to the bombing incident.

Kong Quan says four injured people from Chinese companies in Jakarta have been sent to hospital and Chinese embassy officials went to see them.

A massive car bomb exploded in the Australian Embassy compound in Jakarta, killing 8 people and injuring more than 100.

Australian Prime Minister John Howard said his country won't be intimidated by the terrorist attack.
