RAMALLAH, Sept. 9 (Xinhuanet) -- A special Israeli army undercoverunit stormed the West Bank city of Jericho Wednesday night and assassinated a Palestinian member of Al Aqsa martyrs brigades, Palestinian security sources said on Thursday.

The Israeli private force stormed an internet cafe in Jericho city and assassinated Amer Abedea from al Aqsa Martyrs brigades, armed wing of Fatah movement led by Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat, said the sources.

Witnesses confirmed that the soldiers opened intensive gunfire directly on Abedeia who tried to pull out from the cafe. Three of the cafe visitors were wounded by Israeli soldiers who opened fire haphazardly in the cafe, added the witnesses.

Earlier Thursday, another Israel Army special undercover unitarrested a Palestinian policeman from the northern West Bank city of Toubas.

Witnesses said Mustafa Daraghma was standing before the police station of the city in its southern neighborhood when he was detained. Enditem
