GAZA, Sept. 8 (Xinhuanet) -- Two Palestinians were shot and injured by
Israeli tanks' shelling in the northern Gaza Strip town of BeitLahia Wednesday,
Palestinian medics said.
Medics at Kamal Edwan Hospital said one of the two wounded was a 12-year-old Palestinian boy who was in a serious condition.
Meanwhile, witnesses said about 30 Israeli tanks and bulldozers backed by Apache
helicopters earlier in the day stormed the northern Gaza Strip, isolated the
villages of Beit Hanoun and BeitLahia from each other, and isolated the two from
Jabalya area.
The Israeli army opened intensive fire on the residents'
houses during the incursion into the area and destroyed a Palestinian house
still under construction, witnesses added. Enditem
