RAMALLAH, Sept. 8 (Xinhuanet) -- Two Israeli soldiers were lightly wounded Wednesday morning while trying to detain Hamas militants near the West Bank city of Hebron, Palestinian security sources and residents said.

    The two sides were engaged in a heavy exchange of fire and one Hamas militant surrendered to the Israeli army after being injured by Israeli gunshot in the stomach.

    The two injured Israeli soldiers were rushed to Hadasa Ain Karem Hospital in Jerusalem for treatment, Israeli sources said.

    Meanwhile, Palestinian security sources said the Israeli army detained 14 Palestinians throughout the West Bank overnight Wednesday. Enditem
