GAZA, Sept. 8 (Xinhuanet) -- The Israeli armed forces backed by tanks and
bulldozers stormed the northern Gaza Strip town of BeitLahia early on Wednesday,
Palestinian security sources and witnesses said.
Cloaked by Apache attack helicopters, the ground Israeli troops opened intensive gunfire at
the area.
Israel Army radio said the troops reoccupied the northern Gaza Strip,
isolated the villages of Beit Hanoun and Beit Lahia from each other, and
isolated the two from Jabalya area.
Palestinian sources said the army came from Erez and
Netsaneet settlement in the northern Gaza Strip.
The operation came one day after the army killed 14 Hamas militants in an
airstrike in northern Gaza. Enditem
