BEIJING, Sept. 7 (Xinhuanet) -- Satisfactory results have been achieved in China's relationship with the Andean Community since the launching of the Political Consultation and Cooperation Mechanism of the Sino-Andean Community, said a joint communique issued at the second Meeting of the Political Consultation and
Cooperation Mechanism of the Sino-Andean Community held here Monday.
At the meeting, Vice Foreign Minister Zhou Wenzhong and representatives
from countries in the Andean Community exchanged views on international and
regional issues of common concern and reached consensus on a wide range of
issues.
In the joint communique, both sides highlight the mechanism's contribution
to the promotion of the bilateral relations, saying they will further boost
trust and cooperation according to the principle of equality and mutual benefit.
Both sides encouraged entrepreneurs to hold business expositions and trade
fairs in the other's country, said the communique.
Other fields will also be promoted in the exchanges such as
telecommunication, diplomacy, media, agriculture and environmental protection.
According to the communique, China and the Andean Community countries are
all developing countries and have same or similar opinions toward major
international issues. The communique calls for more coordination and cooperation
in the international affairs under the guidance of the UN Charter and
contributions to the establishment of the new international order.
The Andean Community members stick to the one China policy.
China thanked the Andean Community for its support. China willcontinue to
support the community's effort to promote its integrity process, maintain a
democratic system and achieve stabledevelopment and social progress. China will
also carry out close cooperation with the community in fighting against money
laundering, drug abuse and transnational crimes.
Both sides promise to positively face the challenges brought tothe
developing countries by the economic globalization and adjust positions and
share experience in eliminating poverty and achieve sustainable economic and
social development. They will actively promote the Doha Round of WTO talks and
safeguard the rights and interests of developing countries.
Finally, the communique says both sides decide to hold the third meeting in
the second half of 2006 in the rotating presidency country of the Andean
