GAZA, Sept. 7 (Xinhuanet) -- At least 14 people were killed and 30 others injured as Israeli Apache helicopters fired five missiles at a Hamas youth training camp in eastern Gaza City at midnight Monday, medics of Shiffa Hospital said.

Baker Abu Safeya, chief of emergency at the hospital, said that among the 30 injured, nine people were in critical conditions.

Palestinian witnesses and security sources said Israeli Apache helicopters hovered over Gaza City at midnight Monday and fired at least five missiles at the camp which belongs to the Islamic resistance movement Hamas in the eastern neighborhood of Tufah in Gaza City.

The camp, established on Ahmed Yassin playground two months ago, was full of people when the airstrike was launched, witnesses said.

"Allaho Akbar (God is great)," shouted hundreds of people who rushed to the scene and pulled out remains of the victims and the wounded young men in the camp.

Ambulances and fire fighters raced to the camp and sent the injured to the hospital.

Palestinian security officials said it was not clear whether the camp was hit by missiles fired from Apache helicopters or by surface to surface rockets fired from eastern Gaza.  Enditem
