Urgent: Strong earthquake hits central Japan

    TOKYO, Sept. 5 (Xinhuanet) -- An earthquake measuring 7.3 on the Richter scale hit central Japan Sunday evening after a M6.8 quake hit western Japan five hours earlier, NHK television reported.

    The 12:00 p.m. (1500 GMT) quake measured lower 5 on the Japanese intensity scale of 7, according to NHK's news channel. It was felt in wide areas including Tokyo and its neighboring prefectures. Enditem
