RAMMALLAH, Sept. 5 (Xinhuanet) -- Israeli army troops stormed the village of Beita in the southern West Bank city of Nablus on Sunday and demolished a house, Palestinian security sources and witnesses said.

The Israeli troops destroyed a house owned by Mohammed Hamdan that is located in the center of the town, said the sources.

They said the Israeli soldiers planted explosives inside the house and blasted it, causing severe damage to nearby houses.

Awad Amer, head of the municipality, said the Israeli soldiers storm the town daily and open intensive fire on the residents' houses, adding that they seriously injured a Palestinian on Saturday.

The Israeli soldiers on Sunday pulled out from Nablus and the villages around it, but stationed in its outskirts, Palestinian security sources said.

The sources added that the Israeli soldiers who erected roadblocks at the city's entrances had given permission to a medical team which belongs to an organization called "Medics for
Human Rights" to enter the city.

Residents in Nablus and in some villages around it said the doctors of "Medics for Human Rights" have treated about 600 Palestinians, most of whom had been wounded or beaten by Israeli troops.

The residents said it is the first time in four years that Israel allows this group to enter the city which has been under curfews, sieges and incursions for more than three years.

The Israeli army began its intensive military operations in Nablus and the surrounding villages in mid August, claiming it received warnings that militants are planning to carry out suicide bombing attacks against Israel.  Enditem
