GAZA, Sept. 5 (Xinhuanet) -- The Israeli forces fired a tank missile at a neighborhood in the southern Gaza town of Khan Younis on Sunday, injuring a Palestinian old man, Palestinian security sources said.

Eyad al-Lahham, 51, was seriously wounded by the missile's shrapnel on the head when the al-Za'arba neighborhood where he lived was attacked, the sources said.

In another development, the Israeli army shelled during the night Nasser hospital in the town, hitting the reception section of the hospital and causing sever destruction.

"The shelling has not only caused damages to the hospital, but also terrified and horrified patients, especially aged men and women and children, and caused confusion among the hospital's medical team," said Palestinian Minister of Health Jawad al-Tibi.  Enditem
