GAZA, Sept. 2 (Xinhuanet) -- Israeli army backed by tanks and bulldozers stormed early Thursday the central Gaza Strip, Palestinian security sources said.

According to the sources, Israeli bulldozers, under protection of dozens of tanks, razed huge areas of Palestinian-owned lands in eastern Deer al Balah of the central Gaza.

Residents and eyewitnesses said Israeli soldiers seized one house and turned it into an Israeli army post.

The family who owned the house said they were ordered to gather in one room and the soldiers then chained them and beat them. Enditem
