Indian hostages in Iraq released

    NEW DELHI, Sept. 1 (Xinhuanet) -- India confirmed Wednesday the release of three Indian hostages in Iraq and said they were at present in the Indian Embassy in Baghdad.

    The three Indians -- Antaryami, Sukhdeo Singh and Tilak Raj -- held hostage by Iraqi militants since July 21 have been released, the Press Trust of India quoted External Affairs Minister K. Natwar Singh as saying.

    Minister of State for External Affairs E. Ahamed said that the three Indians were at present at the Indian mission at Baghdad andthat they would soon be on their way to Kuwait.

    The Indians, as also three Kenyans and an Egyptian, all workingas truckers for the Kuwait Gulf Link transport company, were kidnapped by a group calling itself The Holders of The Black Banner July 21. Enditem
