GAZA, Aug. 30 (Xinhuanet) -- A Palestinian young man was shot deadon Monday night by Israeli troops in southern Gaza, saidPalestinian sources.

    Palestinian residents and witnesses said the Israeli soldiersstationed around the Jewish settlement of Morag, south of the townof Khan Younis in southern Gaza, suddenly opened intensive gunfireat the residential area, especially the area closed to thesettlement.

    A young man was killed and severe damage was caused to severalhouses in the area.

    Medics at Nasser Hospital in the town of Khan Younis confirmedthat Yasser al Najjar, 24, was killed immediately after a gunshothit his head. Enditem
