BANGKOK, Aug. 29 (Xinhuanet) -- Thailand and Laos have planned to establish an online computer system to regulate and monitor cross border movements and reduce the flow of illegal drugs, the Thai News Agency reported Sunday.
The two sides agreed on the scheme at a bilateral meeting on Saturday, head of the Thai delegation Charnwut Watchapug, who is also head of Border Immigration, was quoted by the news agency as saying.
The two countries have made joint efforts to promote tourism which resulted in a rising number of tourists crossing the Thai-Laotian border each year.
Local immigration officials have requested more staff to improve services to tourists and the public at the border crossings, Charnwut Watchapug said. Enditem
