Norwegian wins men's K1 1000m gold medal

    ATHENS, Aug. 27 (Xinhuanet) -- Eirik Veraas Larsen of Norway took the men's K1 1000m gold medal at the 28th Olympic Games on Friday.

    The Norwegian over paddled race leader Adam van Koeverden of Canada after 500 meters and led the race to win at three minutes and 25.897 seconds.

    Ben Fouhy of New Zealand was second at 3:27.413 and Koeverden finished third at 3:28.818. Enditem
