BEIJING, Aug. 27 (Xinhuanet) -- China has rewritten its Olympic history during the Day 13 at the Athens Games when hurdler Liu Xiang and canoeists Wang Bing and Li Ting reached the finals, all the first time, CRIENGLISH.com said.

China finished one-two through Guo Jingjing and Wu Minxia in the women's 3m springboard diving final.

Currently, China has 25 golds and ranked second in the gold medal tally, right after the United States.

Guo Jingjing and Wu Minxia, who won the 3m synchronized gold earlier in the Olympic diving tournament, took the gold and silver at 633.15 and 612.00 points respectively.

Earlier, Liu Xiang, the world bronze medalist, advanced into the men's 110m hurdles finals for the first time. He clocked 13.18 seconds to finish second in heat 1 of the semifinals and obviously eased up at the final few meters.

Chinese canoeist Wang Bing finished third in the semifinal of the men's C1 500m to book a berth in Saturday's final. 26-year-old Wang Bing was champion in the men's C2 500m and 1,000m at the Busan Asian Games. He made history for China's canoeing, as no Chinese canoeman has ever before reached the finals of this event in the Olympics.

Also, 19-year-old Li Ting of China made history by becoming the first Chinese ever to secure a berth in an Olympics final in women's kayak 500m. Placed fourth in 2003 Championships in women's K4 500m, Li Ting also made a record as no one in Chinese canoeing history has ever secured a final ticket in women's K1 500m in the Olympics.

On the same day, Chen Shih Hsin won the first Olympic gold medal for Chinese Taipei when she defeated Yuliet Labrada of Cuba 6-4 to win the women's taekwondo 49kg final.

Chu Mu Yen, took the second Olympic gold for Chinese Taipei, beating Mexican Francisco Salazar 5-1 in the men's 58kg taekwondo final.
