MOSCOW, Aug. 23 (Xinhuanet) -- A truck carrying Russia's elite police was blown up on a highway in Dagestan bordering breakaway Chechnya on Monday, wounding seven policemen, Interfax news agencyreported.

The news agency quoted an unnamed Dagestani interior ministry spokesman as saying that the seven injured had been hospitalized.

"No one was killed," he said.

He said the blast that occurred near the police unit's base on the outskirts of Dagestan's main city of Makhachkala, involved a radio-controlled explosive device. Enditem
