    ATHENS, Aug. 22 (Xinhuanet) -- Unknown Chinese shooter Jia Zhanbo came to fame as he claimed the men's 50m rifle three poistions gold medal on Sunday, the last day of the Olympic shooting competition.

    The 30-year-old Jia, who was competing in his first Olympics, scored a winning total of 1,264.5 points.

    American shooter Matthew Emmons had looked set to winning the gold after leading Jia by three points with only one shot remaining, but he misshot other's target and was awarded a zero point, handing Jia the title.

    "His shot hit other shooter's target," Vassilis Delios, chief range officer, told Xinhua.

    Emmons, who trailed Jia by two points entering the final, only finished a disappointing eighth on 1,257.4 points.

    His teammate Michael Anti took silver on 1,263.1, while Christian Planer of Austria won bronze 1,262.8. Enditem
