ATHENS, Aug. 21 (Xinhuanet) -- Athens Olympics shall be the paradise for the worldwide cyclists who came here to have a life-and-death fight.

It seems that the fastest riders can easily break world recordsin the Olympic Velodrome, where a total of 5,000 spectators can enjoy themselves by seeing world records broken so frequently.

In the qualifying of the women's individual pursuit, Katie Mactier of Australia created a new world record of 3:29.945 on Saturday, beating the previous mark of 3:30.604 set by Sarah Ulmerof New Zealand at World Championships this May.

But, before the Australian rider stopped cheering, the former world record holder launched a counter-attack by winning back the world record that she thought must be hers.

With 3:26.279, Sarah Ulmer set again the world record. Enditem
