Fable, an album which marked Faye's musical achievements was released in
2000, featuring five of her songs. The contents of the songs are all closely
related and they absorb some literary and religious elements, which makes the
songs seem obscure.
One of the songs, ¡®Flowers of the Other Shore', refers to the Buddhist
belief that a person can reach the other shore only after eliminating all
memories, therefore almost no one can arrive at that place and there are
scarcely any flowers there at all, but people are still seeking and waiting.
From the beginning, the strings bring out the misty atmosphere, permeated in the
whole song. In the end, voice "I fear nothing, and I love him so", though weak
and low, shows the firm and resolute belief of love.
That was the Flowers of the Other Shore. Faye ended
her EMI contract with a second album called Faye Wong. She says her favorite
song on the album is ¡®The Wandering Red Dancing Shoes. In this song, she tries
to use waltz and jazz. It is filled with the spirit of freedom, referring to the
nightly performance of a circus troupe, in which people's imaginations are fully
aroused. Let's enjoy this song.

After two years silence, her first album on Sony¡ªto Love,
sold more than one million copies in Asia within a week of its release on Nov 7,
2003. Faye continues her various melodies and styles with both artistry and
unaffectedness. The song To Love compares love to a battle to show the
cruelty of love, and represents the courage and a resolute attitude. The music
is filled with strong character. All the songs were written by Faye herself, and
this song reveals her firm belief in love. However, at last we will all confront
with the ever-lasting loneliness.
