กก   LOS ANGELES, Aug. 16 (Xinhuanet) -- The DVD copies of anti-war Hollywood documentary "Fahrenheit 9/11" are set to hit the US stores on Oct. 5, its distributor announced on Monday.

The Columbia TriStar Home Entertainment, a unit of Sony Corp., said the DVD will sell for 28.95 US dollars and include deleted scenes as well as testimony by US National Security Adviser Condoleeza Rice before the 9/11 Commission and a press conference by President Bush after his appearance before the commission.

Directed by Oscar-winning director Michael Moore, "Fahrenheit 9/11" stirred up political controversy by strongly attacking US President George W. Bush for launching the Iraq war.

Due to the political controversy, the film was once rejected byDisney's chief Michael Esner who did not allow its affiliated Miramax to distribute it. But Miramax heads Bob and Harvey Weinstein bought the rights privately from Disney and set up a separate company to distribute the film.

But the controversy added to the film's selling power at North America box office, where it has grossed more than 115 million dollars since its later June release.

Last week, the movie's distributors also blamed the US Army fornot procuring it for cinemas in 160 US military bases across the world. But the US Army denied the accusation, citing the short time between the date of possible showing in late August and that of the DVD release in October. Enditem
