ISLAMABAD, Aug. 14 (Xinhuanet) -- Five homemade-bomb blasts Saturday hit Quetta, capital of the southwestern Balochistan province, when the nation celebrated the country's Independence
Day, police said.

There was no casualties, however, the blasts occurred within three hours time in different parts of the city, smashing glasses in several buildings and creating panic in the city.

No one claimed responsibility for the blasts.

The blasts took place when the provincial Chief Minister Jam Muhammad Yousaf was addressing an Independence Day function in the center of the city.

Bomb disposal experts Saturday defused a live rocket planted in the outskirts of Quetta, which was targeting the city.  Enditem
