14 killed as vehicle plunges into river in Madagascar

    TANANARIVE, Aug. 11 (Xinhuanet) -- At least 14 people were killed and another five injured in Madagascar when the vehicle they were traveling in plunged into a river, local media reported Wednesday.

    The mishap occurred on Wednesday as a bridge near the town of Lokombi in the southeastern part of the Indian Ocean country collapsed.

    The bridge gave way under the weight of the vehicle carrying passengers and goods, the report said. Enditem
