4 Palestinians wounded in Israeli raid on Rafah
www.chinaview.cn 2004-08-08 18:37:43

GAZA, Aug. 8 (Xinhuanet) -- At least four Palestinians were wounded during an Israeli raid on the southern Gaza Strip town of Rafah on Sunday morning, Palestinian security and medical sources said.

The four wounded were all Palestinian civilians, including two children in serious conditions, the medical sources said.

At least 20 Israeli tanks and armored vehicles backed by Apache helicopters stormed Rafah, a southern Gaza town bordering Egypt in the early hours of the day, residents said.

They said the Israeli forces rolled into the neighborhood of Sho'out near the borders, and bulldozers began to raze houses as Israeli soldiers opened fire at residential houses.

The security sources said the tanks and bulldozers also destroyed the town's infrastructure, streets and electric and telephone pillars.  Enditem
