KUWAIT CITY, Aug. 1 (Xinhuanet) -- A batch of US aid for Iraq was unloaded in a Kuwaiti port, the Kuwait News Agency reported Sunday.
The US aid, including medical instruments and equipment, 247 airconditioning units, four ice makers and over 2,000 beds with a total value of four million US dollars, would be transported by truck to Iraq, the agency quoted Subhi Al-Hadhud, advisor for aid operations at Kuwaiti Humanitarian Operations Center as saying.
The aid, offered by the US forces based in Bahrain, will be distributed to Iraqis by the center.
The advisor said the center has packed 23 water tanks in trucks,adding that the center will be in charge of delivering the tanks to Iraq, including the restive city of Fallujah. Enditem |
