Bush vows to lead int'l war on terrorism

    WASHINGTON, July 12 (Xinhuanet) -- US President George W. Bush reiterated on Monday his determination to lead the worldwide war on terrorism.

    Speaking in the Oakridge National Laboratory, Tennessee, Bush said, "The global threat of terrorism requires aglobal response. To be effective, that global response requires leadership, and America will lead."

    Bush has been focusing his effort to wage an international war on terrorism since September 11, 2001 which witnessed a bloody attack on the world trade building in New York.

    Claiming "the American people are safer," Bush confessed that his country "remain a nation at risk, directly threatened by an enemy that plots in secret to cause terrible harm and grief."

    Bush vowed that his administration is "determined to challenge new threats, not ignore them or simply wait for future tragedy." Enditem
