LONDON, July 12 (Xinhuanet) -- British Chancellor of the Exchequer Gordon Brown said Monday the ruling Labor government would cut civil services jobs by 84,150 to save money for raising the fund for the security sectors including anti-terrorism, the security services and defense.
In a comprehensive spending review for the next three years, Brown told the parliamentary members that a total efficiency savings of 2.1 billion pounds or 3.86 billion US dollars would be saved by 2008 and the money would go to frontline services of security services. Endtiem |
