BEIJING, July.10 (Xinhuanet) -- A United Nations agency says new outbreaks of bird flu in Asia have posed a serious threat to human health.
The UN Food and Agriculture Organization said the new cases don't come as a surprise, but urged Asian governments to remain vigilant. Scientists warned that the virus infecting poultry stocks was mutating quickly and could be transmitted to humans, CRIENGLISH.com reported Saturday.

Meanwhile the UN agency praised China, Thailand and Vietnam for reacting quickly to the new outbreaks, but warned that surveillance and immediate reaction to new cases still needs to be strengthened.
